About KPTP

Funded by the Kentucky Innovation Act and the Office of the New Economy, the Kentucky Proteomics Training Program provides training in the essential methods of  two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2D-PAGE), peptide mass fingerprinting, use of mass spectrometry data and protein bioinformatics. Included in the training program are sessions in which the participants receive advice as to how to incorporate proteomic strategies into their research programs. The 5-day training program includes both a wet lab and didactic sessions and has been designed for students with laboratory backgrounds ranging from graduate student to senior investigator.

The program costs only $1,500 for Kentucky residents. Out-of-state tuition is $2,900. Housing, transportation, and meals are not included in the cost of the program. Affordable housing, is located nearby at the Inn at Jewish Hospital and The Marriott Courtyard.
